Dr. Matthew Blondin has been serving the eye care needs of the Torrington area community since 1979. He is a 1975 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1978. He is both DPA and TPA certified, and currently offers a complete range of eye care services including blood pressure screening and glaucoma testing. Dr. Blondin is Chairman of the CT State Board of Optometric Examiners, a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In June of 2014, Dr. Matthew Blondin’s son in law Dr. Michael Shea joined the practice. Dr. Shea graduated from MCPHS University in Boston, MA, in 2011 and from the New England College of Optometry in 2014. He completed a residency in ocular disease at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Newington, CT. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and he is a member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Blondin & Dr. Shea provides a full service eyewear selection including many designer frames, transition lenses and lightweight polycarbonate lenses, many brands of contact lenses and various varieties of sunglasses. They are experienced professionals serving all ages from infants to seniors including those with special needs. Their office is centrally located in downtown Torrington with parking and is fully handicapped accessible.
